v2.0.0 - The Level Editor is here!



Here we go! The level editor update is out now. Sorry to keep you waiting!
This updates the Windows, Ubuntu, and Browser versions to v2.0.0, most notably adding the level editor for desktop platforms, but there have been a number of smaller fixes and optimizations as well. Enjoy!

Added

  • [Desktop] Level Editor: Access using Extras > Level Editor.
    • The editor comes with 6 new pre-installed levels that you can play and edit!
    • Here's a manual for the editor.
  • New Extras menu that now houses some of the bonus features and website links.

Fixed

  • Improved performance, most notably in large levels, while moving on the grind rail, and while watching the credits.
  • Fixes a rare case where freeze frame triggered unexpectedly during the final boss fight.
  • Fixes that in some cases, it was possible to escape the final boss arena.
  • Fixed some cases where the replay could desync when the window lost focus.
  • Fixes that setting the Visual Effects setting to Off would the game to gradually slow down the longer you were in a certain level.
  • [Ubuntu] Included some dependencies so that the game should run out of the box on Ubuntu 22.
  • [Browser] The game window now resizes correctly when the game starts or language changes.
  • Other small stability improvements.

Changed

  • Moving spike hitboxes are now smaller.
  • The secret room is now easier to reach thanks to a new secret hallway that opens up after clearing the game.
  • Secret room has been slightly redesigned to be easier to navigate and have a less intense background.
  • Minor dialog changes, minor graphical changes.
  • Default volume settings are lower.
  • Changed credits to account for new & removed assets, updated special thanks.
  • [Windows] Uses GMSched to fix slowdown issues.
  • [Browser] Loading bar animation added.

no way! I remember playing this years ago, thinking this is the definition of what a great minimalistic platformer is. I'm amazed this is still being worked on!!

Amazing ! I'm glad to see this wonderful little experience getting updated, Mobility! is an amazing game and this level editor is very exciting ! I'll take a look at it for sure, thanks for developping it !

Could you maybe increase the rails speedcap?
On occasions where you get a booster into some rails you slowdown instead of accelerating. (examples are canis and hircum)

also when clicking the links in the extras on the desktop version it puts a " in-front of the link, it also doesn't have the : before the //
(seems like it is only for me)

it works completely fine on the web version though
