this game is amazing one of the best precision games i´ve played so far ngl cat approves

good game but you can cheese the boss if you use the in radius game mode

Amazing game!  I completed the whole game in less than a hour and i am playing it again and again, Thanks for making such a good game.

Thank you for playing!

I have been playing a lot on the browser version and decided to download the zip file. Is there a way to import/export my save data or put it into my new game?

This is not possible in-game, and the game is short enough that you could just replay it for a bit. There is a hacky workaround, though! If you follow these steps and reply with the resulting string of text, I can provide a PC save file for you.

1) Open the game on the site where you played it.

2) Open the developer tools (in most browsers you do this with F12).
3) Open the "Storage" tools.
4) Go to Local Storage. If you've opened the game on itch, you should see a domain ending in hwcdn.net, select that.
5) In the list, find the key that ends with "Mobility_Save_1.ini" (or _2 or _3 depending on which save slots you used). Double click on the value for that key. Press Ctrl+A to select all text, then Ctrl+C to copy it. See image for an example in Firefox.

Here's an example of how the extracted text should look.

Sorry that this is not more convenient. Let me know if you have any questions!

hello I have a game site
Can I get your game on my site?
Do not worry!
I will advertise you

Hey Auroiax! Are you aware that you can actually change game files to basically complete the whole game. I was just playing around with the game files when I stumbled upon the times file.
So I changed all the times to 1.00 and it actually worked! You might want to patch this because now I feel like some secret CIA hacker lol.

This is actually intended, since I wanted people to be able to change the save data for accessibility reasons. Besides, even if I encrypted the data, I expect people who really want to break into it would do so regardless! 👨‍💻

very cool and fun game

that is all

looks like i beat all levels and debug room levels too yyeyeyeyeyeeyeyeyyeyeey imnot sure i u can find the debug room hahahahahah s s

Hey, I remember playing this on coolmath! I'm gonna have to give this a download (I got it the bundle

Is there some sort of discord or a place where you can share your times?

I've been thinking about opening a Discord server, but until then, the best place is probably here: https://www.speedrun.com/mobility. They also have leaderboards for individual levels, and some people who are currently actively speedrunning the game!

thank you!

I know you asked this five months ago, but there is actually a  discord server for this game where you can share level times or full game times. Here is the link.

Using the linux-64 build, the game still doesn't run without having to get libcrypto-1.0.0 and libssl.1.0.0.

Oh, that is curious. Are you running from an Ubuntu-based distro?

I was running from an Ubuntu-based distro (Linux Mint) and I had this problem. My workaround was just downloading the browser version. Someone in the comments below linked the downloads to libcrypto and libssl but it told me I had the wrong ELFCLASS still.

Thanks everyone for reporting this! To properly fix it,  I'll probably need to update the game engine to the latest version. It could still take some time before I get around to properly fixing this issue, but I'll look into this sooner or later (and like you noted, you can use the browser version as well).

I recommended this game to a friend who lacks access to a PC at home. He mostly uses a PS4 and an iPad for entertainment.

How hard would it be to add touch controls to the web version, or perhaps controller support?

Also, since you clearly lost interest in developing this project further, have you considered releasing the project files so that new levels could be created? I'm not a GameMaker user (working in pygame and experimenting with Godot), but maybe someone else who else who likes the game might make additions.

Touch control sounds like a good suggestion that would make the game more accessible. I'll look into it!

I've thought about revealing the source code, but the main problem is that you'd need to own Game Maker and deal with my spaghetti code. So I'd rather do a sequel with a proper level editor instead (featuring a user-friendly interface, and support for easily sharing levels). But I'm not really sure if & when that will happen, my other projects have priority at the moment. Sorry!

I would describe this game as 'thoroughly pleasant'. Thanks for making it so easy to choose your own challenge level, as I much prefer a laid back playthrough, and this little game was perfectly relaxing at lower difficulty. =}

this game is the perfect reduction of the the platformer. its so good. really good job. multi controls and 4-btn gameplay expanded to its traditional special moves, double jump wall-jump, etc., and put into a simple but beautiful minimal pixel art frame. just enough story cuz this is a straight platforming and the story simply frames it. im low mobility disabled but i found no problems with a platformer is a huge deal. thanks buddy. cheers

What a lovely game. Give my compliments to the music guy too!

(+1)

Just beat it! Thanks!!

This looks really good! I'll probably play this on my stream today!

Stream?

like live stream it to a website

Oh

I really love this game. It's one of my favorite indie platforms on itch.io. I only wish there was a level editor or more levels.

I recently upgraded from Linux Mint 18.3 to Ubuntu 19.10 and the game wouldn't work. The linux version is compiled against the 32-bit version of the libssl package, which isn't supported in modern Ubuntu-based distributions.

You can get libcrypto-1.0.0 and libssl.1.0.0 from here. Open the file as an archive and extract the two files to /lib/i386-linux-gnu/ and the game will run.

It would be great to see an updated 64-bit Linux version of the game though

Thanks for the praise, and thanks for bringing my attention to the fact that the Linux build is getting outdated. Sadly, I'm really busy  at the moment so it could take a while before I can properly fix this. I've updated the install instructions to warn users for this issue. Thanks for reporting!

Sorry for the delay, but I've finally gotten around to make a 64-bits build! I hope it works for you 😁

Thanks a lot! I still wasn't able to get the game to run on 64 or 32 bit, but it's working a bit better. The game launches now, but it  crashes immediately. I guess I can play the browser verison.

Great game I really like it specially the gameplay and music :D

Thanks for playing! :D

what about the other rooms on the first ship

You mean on the Beginning? Those are for the employees of the Mobility, not for the trainees. No access for you, sorry :P

also make it so you could become a employee of the mobility if you beat all levels [including the ones on the debug room] on corrupting blocks mode [just an idea]

Those are all nice ideas for a sequel, which I still really want to make, but I'm still working on other games 👾

Thank you! I responded to your comment on Twitter as well, but to anyone wondering: If you hold both [R] and [Space] on a save slot for five seconds, it will wipe it.

THIS GAME IS AMAZING!!! I enjoyed playing it so much!!! I spent like an hour playing the game! AMAZING

I have no idea why it's gone, but I'm gonna look into it!

My review:

The game was amazing. I don't even like platforms that much, let alone impossibly hard precision platforms, but this one held me to the end. twice.

This game's biggest accomplishment is the amazing difficulty system. Somehow, you made the difficulty changeable in platformer! My first play though I found Vanish to fit just right, and I had a lot of fun with the later levels.  The second play-though on the hardest difficulty was just as great, it was like playing the game all over again.

The second thing that held me to the end was the controls and game feel. It always felt just right to bounce around in the levels. You get just enough control over your character to make each level a blast. Even just to hop around the main overworld is great. I played most of the levels.

The game has some minor issues of course, but I'm really just nitpicking here. Firstly the inner ring is horribly laggy, and is not help by the fact that it is large and hard to get around on its own. It might be improved with a button to teleport to the main area on it, but neither really hurts the experience much.

Overall, Its a great game. The aesthetic is cutsy and great, your character feels amazing to control, and the difficulty levels helped me play though in a great flow state. Every time that I though "oh god this game would be so good if it had 'X' " My expectations were met.

10 out of fucking 10.

yeah I said it.

❤️

The controller support doesn't seem to work

help

Controller support only works in the Windows version, and I only tested it with USB controllers, so others could behave unpredictably. Sorry for the inconvenience! I'll look into updating the controller support for the next update.

im using a xboxone controller wired on windows?

Strange, that's one of the controllers I've confirmed that should work. Some things I can think of that could be going wrong:

  • Joystick support is turned off in the settings.
  • Controller was plugged in after the game launched. If you want to confirm a controller was detected by the game, go to the "Joystick" option in the settings screen. If it's description displays question marks, the game isn't detecting your controller for some reason.
  • Key maps aren't set correctly for some reason. If you press [F12] on the main menu you set the keybindings for the controller, or press [F12] again to reset it to default in case they did not initialize properly.

If those things don't help, would you mind providing more details? Does the game actually receive input from the controller, or doesn't it do anything at all?

Deleted 3 years ago

Aah, that's a shame. I'm sorry, I'm going to look into it from my side. but it could take some time. One final thing I can think of is updating the controller's drivers, but I doubt that's it. If you really want to play with a controller, look into software that can convert controller inputs into keyboard presses. I'm really sorry I can't provide a better solution at the moment!

I have been following this game since it was just a devlog. I'm so glad it's finally released and I can play it.

Thanks, and enjoy the game!

This is really cute and happy and I have to thank you so much for this! +1 for the accessibility options!

Thanks for playing, glad the options were helpful :)

Really enjoyed playing this, great little game. Nice simple visuals which work perfectly with the gameplay and great music. Really appreciated the light humour and storyline and enjoyed the difficulty options with each level, great idea. I'm not sure what the choice of characters really added to the game, if anything I feel it detracted from the story if you're changing characters as you progress through the game. I didn't notice any change in abilities or difficulty with each player so I assume it's purely aesthetic? Overall I really like it and would love to see a sequel or extended version, could happily play this for a much longer period of time. Completed the first play through on Contact in 1hr 40mins and although you have the re-playability in other difficulties the storyline is already over. Already recommended it to a few friends!

Thanks for playing & recommending! Sadly, I don't think an extended edition or sequel is going to happen, as I really want to make a completely new game next. Thanks for the suggestion, though!

This is good game design!

5/5

Thank you!

This game is great! I was looking for some platformer that is easier than 'pulling my hair' difficulty and what I found is beyond any expectations. This game has it all: story, design, MUSIC, gameplay. This is simply awesome. Thank you for this! It is just brilliant. And it let's you control your difficulty in a very interesting way!

I will just say that I LOVED IT

You're welcome! Thanks a lot for playing.

(+2)

Love this, despite my anger! It's great how every level has 4 different modes, what a fantastic little idea that is to keep things interesting =)

Having a story to go along with the "precision platforming" (AKA rage) is a cracking addition too, makes completing every level worth it to see what happens next!

Keep up the awesome work, this was a corker! =)

(+1)

That crouching long jump feels REAL good. Great job on the game!

Thank you!

It just says "press undefined" ?

(1 edit)

Seems the button mappings are not set correctly! I broke that in the latest update, oops. Try pressing [F12] two times on the title screen, this should reset the default keybindings until I fix it.

Edit: Should be fixed now. If it doesn't work yet, the aforementioned trick still works.

(1 edit)

AWESOME!!! The only problem is the size screen, sometimes I can't see the text because the screen is a little on top.... :-/

What's your screen's resolution? You could try setting screen scale to 1x or full screen in the settings menu of the desktop versions, or activate the fullscreen mode of your browser (press [F11] in Chrome or Firefox).

Cool thanks!!!

What a great concept! I love this approach to sliding scale difficulty. It was fun to find each puzzle and decide how hard I wanted it to be once I got there. Sometimes playing platformers can feel like the dev is intentionally trying to make your life a living hell for the fun of it. I think we've a reached saturation point with hardcore platformers and we need fresh takes on the genre like this. Well done.

Thank you so much for this thoughtful comment, I agree with a lot of your opinions here. Let's make games more accessible for everyone!

Fun little game about me being awesome, and other stuff.

I enjoyed watching this! Thanks for playing!

Really a very interesting game!

Thanks for the kind words!

edit: as seen in the author's reply below, this issue has been fixed. Game installs correctly  in the itch.io app under Linux now.

Great game!

tiny bug report: I was forced to play it in the browser though as installing via the itch.io app gave me a "no executable found" on Ubuntu. I am guessing because itch.io doesn't understand deb files. Check out the following documentation for that. https://itch.io/docs/itch/integrating/platforms/linux.html

(+1)

Thanks for pointing this out! I uploaded a .tar.gz as Linux version now, which the itch app should be able to load.

Works perfectly now! Thank you very much.

any chance of having a mac executable in the future?

(+1)

I don't own a mac OS device I need to make a mac version, but I'll try to lend one from my friends soon. It could take a while, though! Feel free to check out the browser version in the meantime.

I think the game would feel better if camera movement is more smooth

Great  game  though

Thanks for the feedback! Glad you're enjoying the game.
